The food industry is the fastest growing industry in the United States. Through the Y.I.S.D. Culinary Arts program students will learn the basics of Culinary preparation. Classic French cooking, stock preparation, garde- manger, proper sanitation and saftey, maesurments, baking, pastry work and more. Students make contact with local and national chefs. During this process working with and as a chef is emphasized. In many cases job placement is made possible. There are also many scholarship opportunities for post secondary Culinary colleges, these are made possible through Skills U.S.A. and The American Culinary Federation. |
